How-To Guides

How Often Should You Brush Your Dog’s Teeth?

Daily brushing is the goal for many dogs because plaque can build up quickly. That said, a realistic routine you can maintain is better than an ambitious plan you abandon after a week.

A practical schedule

  • Best: brush daily with dog-safe toothpaste.
  • Good: brush several times per week and use vet-approved dental support products.
  • Not enough: relying only on chews when your dog already has obvious dental problems.

Professional dental cleanings may still be needed. Home brushing helps maintenance, but it does not replace veterinary care for existing disease.
